MARGAO: Anush Bandodkar’s blistering half century helped Margao Cricket Club outplay Lapaz Gardens by 8 wickets to enter the ‘A’ division South Zone cricket final organised by GCA at Dr Rajendra Prasad grounds, Wednesday. Batting first, Lapaz Gardens were bundled out for 101 in 27 overs. Krishna top-scored with 40. For Margao Cricket Club, Vishwambhar Kahlon was the wrecker-in-chief, scalping 4 for 20. Kumar Boresa and Gaurav Bengre were the other bowlers sharing three wickets each.In reply, MCC rode on Rajesh Ghodge’s 30 and raced to their target in 22.4 overs scoring 103 for 2. Shreyas, Mohit star for Mahila Nutan

MARGAO: Shreyash Gawande (78runs, 11x4) and Mohit Redkar (unbeaten 69, 10X4) hit half centuries as Mahila Nutan High School, Margao crushed AIM Salcete by 147 runs in the Salcete Taluka Under 17 inter school cricket tournament organized by Diretorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at SAG Sports Complex, Fatorda on Wednesday.

After winning the toss, Mahila Nutan scored 200 for 4 in their alloted 20 overs.Sanath Prabhudessai also added a valuable 25. For AIM,Salcete,Shehzar,Salim, and Sajit shared one wicket each.In reply AIM were bowled out at 53 runs in 12 overs. Only Zariyab Shaikh managed to cross double figures with 16 runs. For Mahila Nutan, Anirudha Bhat, Saish Satardekar and Prashant Zamuni captured two wickets each.

Progress by 109 runs

MARGAO: Dr KB Hedgewar HS defeated Progress HS by 109 runs to enter the finals of U-14 Tiswadi Zone inter school ‘President’ Trophy cricket tournament organized by Goa Cricket Association at SAG grounds, Campal. Batting first, Hedgewar scored 153. For Progress, Vishal Hanchimani took 5 for 33. In reply, Progress collapsed for 44 with Manish Pai Kakode doing most of the damage by taking 5 wickets for just eighg runs.

Brief score: Dr KB Hedgewar HS, 153 all out in 36 overs (Saitej Amonkar 29, Manish Pai Kakode 17, Sachin Pandey 13 runs. Cavin to lead Goa in BC Roy Trophy
