Who will win Mandrem - Parsekar or Sopte?
PERNEM: With public campaigning for the assembly election coming to an end on Thursday, the fate of Chief Minister and BJP's Mandrem candidate Laximikant Parsekar will be sealed on February 4.
Though there are seven candidates in the fray, a tough fight is expected between Parsekar and Congress candidate Dayanand Sopte and supporters of both parties are confident of victory in Mandrem.
Besides Parsekar and Sopte, others in the fray are Shridhar Manjrekar (MGP), Devendra Prabhudessai (AAP), Rajendra Satlekar (NCP), Bhim Pernekar (Bhahujan Mukti) and Sanjay Prabhudessai (Independent).
Harmal ZP member Arun Bankar said,“We will poll majority votes in Keri-Tiracol, Palyem, Harmal, Mandrem, Morjim, Agarwada, Parsem, Tuem and Virnoda Panchayats. Parsekar will win with a huge margin,” he said.
Mandrem Congress Block president Narayan Kerkar said, “All local Congress leaders are united to defeat Parsekar. There is also an anti-incumbency wave in Mandrem constituency, which will pave the way for Dayanand Sopte.”
