MARGAO: Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai on Friday has demanded to know why the government has till date not allowed spectators for the ISL matches being played in Goa when permission has been granted to hold the Carnival parade in Margao and Panjim.
“When the ISL matches are going on at the stadiums, the government could have allowed spectators by regulating their entry inside. But, the same minister holding both sports and tourism portfolios is keen to have the Carnival parade for obvious reasons”, he said, while sounding a note of caution that it is still risky to have a Carnival float parade when the COVID situation has not improved in the state.
