Widow files complaint against brother at Vasco

In her complaint, Milan Dhananjay Naik said she had gone to the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) on Wednesday to register a complaint against her brother, Vishwas Pandurang Vast, for allegedly constructing a PWD water meter box in very close proximity to her house wall and without taking any permission from the agencies concerned.
When she went to forward a copy of the complaint at the deputy collector’s office, Naik said her brother allegedly abused her and her minor daughter, before pushing her down and causing her injuries.
Naik claimed that none of the staff at the deputy collector’s office came to her rescue and added that they had silently watched her brother assaulting her in public.
Naik stated that since the deputy collector was not present in the office, she went to meet Mormugao Mamlatdar Satish Prabhu, who directed her to file a police complaint.
Acting on his advice, Naik filed a complaint at Vasco police accusing her brother of outraging her modesty, threatening her with dire consequences, harassment and mental torture.
When contacted, Vasco PI Nolasco Raposo confirmed the Vasco police had filed a chapter case against Vast as there were earlier non-cognizable offences registered against him.
“We have also written to the Mormugao Deputy Collector to initiate action against Vast,” PI Raposo added.
