Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday assured that all those projects by GTDC Chairman and local MLA Dayanand Sopte which are pending in Mandrem constituency will be completed by December.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Cyclone Shelter at Mandrem, built at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
The Cyclone Shelter will serve as a control room for communications, preparedness and will serve as a temporary shelter in case of future emergencies, along with providing facilities for day-to-day usage for various events.
“There are 14 more projects to be completed and no project started by him will be kept on hold. Due to Sopte’s initiative, this Cyclone Shelter is now completed,” said Sawant.
Others present on the occasion included Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte, Mandrem Sarpanch Subhash Asolkar, Parcem Sarpanch Pragati Sopte, Morjim Deputy Sarpanch Amit Shetgaonkar and others.
The chief minister informed that recruitment for Mopa Skill Training Centre would begin from November and youth chosen from across Pernem would be trained in skills for employment at the Mopa airport.
The chief minister also inaugurated the building of Harmal Panchakroshi College at Harmal. “Such prime institutions will go a long way to prepare an environment for the all-round development of students in the State. The State government strives to bring in quality education and courses for students to help them excel in the fields of their liking,” said Sawant.
