MARGAO
Saying that two parties are needed for talks to forge an alliance, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar has said that the Congress, as a big brother, would continue its efforts to bring together like-minded political parties to defeat the BJP in the 2027 Assembly election.
He said the Congress party would start talks with the Revolutionary Goans Party immediately since the regional party has responded to the call for the unity of all opposition parties against the BJP.
As far as the Goa Forward Party is concerned, Chodankar said the regional party has suspended talks with the Congress on alliance, saying the party will wait for the Goa Forward leadership to withdraw the suspension and come for talks.
Saying that the Congress party is serious in forging an alliance of opposition parties keeping in mind the sentiments of the people of Goa, Chodankar said this is evident by the fact that the Party has already constituted a panel headed by Congress Goa desk in-charge, Manikrao Thakare to hold alliance talks with like-minded parties.
