Will not allow Amit Shah-type events at airport again: AAI

Panaji: The Bombay HC at Goa on Monday accepted a written undertaking by the Director of Goa Airport Bhupesh Negi that no kind of ‘public meeting' will be allowed within the premises of the airport in the future and disposed a petition filed by Adv Aires Rodrigues which sought fixing the responsibility on authority for having allowed a public meeting addressed by BJP party National President Amit Shah at Goa's Dabolim Airport in total violation of law on July 1, 2017.
In the undertaking filed on oath, Director of AAI Dabolim, Negi stated that the airport authorities will ensure that no such occurrence ever takes place within the airport area and its precincts again.
The submission marks an acknowledgement from the authorities for the first time that hosting the meeting at the airport was indeed wrong.
