VASCO
Claiming he was unaware of grievances among leaders regarding ward reservations for the upcoming civic polls, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar on Friday said he would resolve differences among BJP legislators in Mormugao taluka.
Tendulkar was speaking to reporters after inaugurating the election office of Vasco BJP Block President and former Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) chairperson Deepak Naik in the presence of Vasco BJP MLA Carlos Almeida and other BJP block members.
Tendulkar said he had recently arrived from Delhi and was presently appointed as observer for the civic polls.
“The party has appointed me observer for the civic elections in Mormugao taluka and I have started to visit the area only since Thursday.”
“I have come to meet Vasco BJP MLA Carlos Almeida and Vasco BJP Block President Deepak Naik. I am here to address grievances, if any, among Karyakartas and legislators. Almeida has already taken the challenge to face civic polls immaterial of reservations and has pledged to get BJP candidates elected in Vasco constituency,” said Tendulkar.
“I understand there may be some difference among BJP legislators in Mormugao taluka and I will take it up with State Party President Sadanand Shet Tanavade and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, and will get the differences resolved.”
Vasco BJP MLA Carlos Almeida reiterated his demand with the chief minister to drop Urban Development Minister Milind Naik from the cabinet.
“ I am ready to face elections with my team immaterial of what happens and whether the reservations are revoked or not. I still demand the CM should sack Urban Development Minister Milind Naik from his ministry because he has failed on the reservations,” said Almeida.
