PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday warned opponents that he will reveal who the true face of corruption after May 23.
“We are sure of victory, therefore our opponents are restless and making false allegations against us. What is corruption, who is involved, all will be revealed after May 23,” said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant while addressing BJP workers at the inauguration function of the campaign office of its candidate Sidharth Kuncoliencar in Panaji.
Sawant further said that the Smart city project is an on-going one and will be complete in three years' time. He also stated that there is no corruption in it and that Kuncoliencar would clarify about the same in a couple of days.
"BJP is for development not corruption," he added.
While expressing confidence that his party would win all 6 seats, which include 4 constituency seats and 2 Loksabha seats, the CM said, “We will win 6-0."
The Chief Minister also said that Congress candidate for the Panaji bypoll has atleast 10-12 criminal cases against him, while Kuncoliencar's slate is clean.
While taunting the media for not reporting criminal cases on Babush Monseratte, the CM said, “I was checking Congress candidate Babush Monserrate's affidavit; he has 10-12 cases pending against him."
The CM also condemned the incident of the alleged attack of an election officer on duty in Panjim by Congress workers.
“I condemn the attack on government officers on election duty. If this is the dadagiri now, then what will happen in the future,” CM said.
While reiterating the will to do human development along with infrastructure development, Sawant said he is making efforts towards providing career guidance as well as jobs to the youth.
“I say yet again, even though the promise made by Bhai (former CM, late Manohar Parrikar) about creating 40,000 to 50,000 jobs in Goa is incomplete, in the coming three years we are committed to creating these jobs through various projects,” he said, adding that jobs will be created through Mopa International Airport or Investment Promotion Board and through government agencies.
He also expressed confidence that the government will complete its three years' term. “We have our alliance partners with us. No one has the courage to overthrow this government,” Sawant said.
