With the Sonsodo waste management shed reaching a stage of saturation, offering no room for unloading of fresh waste, the daily garbage was found dumped outside the plant on Tuesday as a temporary measure.
Trucks load of waste collected from the city was dumped outside the waste management shed at Sonsodo after the garbage laden trucks could not enter the plant with the daily waste.
Sources informed that since the garbage trucks could not enter the plant, which has almost reached the state of saturation, the truck drivers have been left with no option than to dump the waste outside the shed.
The ground reality has only exposed the inept handling of the garbage at Sonsodo, with no solution in sight to treat the daily waste dumped at the plant.
With no treatment of waste taking place at Sonsodo over the last several months, sources pointed out that the MMC will be left with no option than to deploy heavy machinery to push back the piled up waste to make room for the fresh waste.
