CANACONA: A 56 year old woman hanged herself at her residence at Devbag, Canacona.
According to Canacona police, Premal (56) wife of Pradeep Desai has made multiple suicide attempts in the past and finally hanged herself at her residence on Wednesday.
Police received a call at about 7.30 pm on Wednesday that one Premal w/o Pradeep Desai, age 56 yrs, r/o H.No 301, Devbag, Canacona, has hanged herself at her residence.
Police during preliminary enquiry with the family members learned that the said lady was under treatment for her mental health issues and she has history of multiple suicide attempts in the past. The family members also suspect no foul play in the death of their kin, informed police.
Police conducted scene of UD occurrence Panchanama and inquest Panchanama and dead body is referred to SGDH Margao, for post mortem examination where police surgeon conducted an autopsy over the dead body and certified the cause of death as “asphyxia as a result of hanging”. The body was handed over to family members for final rights.
Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Shivram Gauns of Canacona PS.
