Woman duped of Rs 2.5 lakh on Germany job promise, 3 booked

Vasco police have registered an FIR against three persons for allegedly cheating a Dabolim resident of Rs 2.5 lakh on the pretext of securing a job for her son in Germany.

According to the complaint filed by Perpetua Socoro Esperanca, the incident took place on July 31 at Chicalim. The accused have been identified as Cedric Telles and Julius Telles, both residents of Cortalim, and Ralph Anthony Menezes, a resident of Chinchinim.

The complainant stated that Cedric and Julius introduced her to Menezes, who allegedly posed as a recruiting agent. The accused allegedly induced her to transfer Rs 2.5 lakh through RTGS, promising employment for her son in Germany.

However, after receiving the money, the accused allegedly stopped responding to her calls and provided evasive and vague explanations. The promised employment was not provided and the money was also allegedly not returned.

Vasco police have registered an FIR under Section 318(4) of the BNS. 

Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Nikhil Dessai of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik.
