CURCHOREM:
Curchorem PI Ravi Dessai said Manjusha Bhandari was fatally struck with a sharp object on wrist and forehead sometime between 12.30 and 1 pm.
The incident came to light when a woman from the neighbourhood had gone to meet Manjusha. On receiving no response, the woman entered the room, only to find the lifeless body on the floor. She then raised an alarm and locals notified the police.
“The police rushed to the spot and conducted the inquest panchanama. Later, DIG Vimal Gupta and DySP Sammy Tawares visited the crime scene to take stock of the incident and police investigations. The body was lying on the floor and police also recovered some evidence from crime site,” informed PI Dessai.
“We have detained Mahanand Bhandari, husband of Manjusha, in this connection,” said PI Dessai, adding that an offence of murder had been registered in the case.
Locals nearby informed that Manjusha was a housewife and a mother of two girls. Police investigations are
in progress.
