According to reports, Jayanti had gone to work in the field of Laxman Prabhugaokar in Velwada at about 9 am on January 31, when a wild boar came charging at her and attacked her.

Jayanti, who was thrown on the ground, struggled with the wild boar to save herself from the attack and caught hold of the wild boar’s snout, before the wild boar finally left her and fled away.

Jayanti sustained multiple injuries on both hands and received treatment at the Canacona Community Centre (CHC) in Canacona.

The field owner, Laxman Prabhugaokar, has filed a complaint with the forest department in this matter.
