Woman with burn injuries struggling for life at GMC

PONDA: A newly married woman from Molowada Par Usgao, but a native of Jharkhand, was struggling for life in GMC Hospital after she sustained 70 per cent burn injuries at her residence.
According to Ponda Police, Anamika Kumari was cooking on a stove when her gown caught fire on Thursday night. Her husband Manoj Kumar also sustained burn injuries to his hand while trying to rescue her. Police further informed that they got a call from Primary Health Centre Usgao about the incident on Thursday night and primary investigation revealed that a gallon filled with kerosene fell on the stove and Anamika's gown caught fire.
Police said with 70 per cent burn injuries, she was rushed to PHC Usgao and then shifted to GMC Hospital at Bambolim.
Sources informed that the couple had married six months ago.
Ponda Police is further investigating the case.
