Women screened for breast cancer crosses 1.1 lakh mark: Health Min

Says initiative aims to cross 2 lakh mark in 2025

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Thursday said that the number of women screened for breast cancer by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) has notched the 1.1 lakh mark under its Swastha Mahila Swastha Goa initiative. 

“Over the past period, the DHS Goa has successfully conducted over 1.1 lakh breast cancer screenings under the #SwasthaMahilaSwasthaGoa initiative,” Rane said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Rane said it is a noteworthy achievement and a milestone in empowering women with healthcare, while pledging to surpass 2 lakh screenings in the coming year.

“Early detection remains our top priority as we aim to provide accessible and life-saving care to all women in Goa,” Rane further said in his post, while terming 2024 as a “transformative journey” for healthcare in State.
