Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar on Saturday said that the work on the much-awaited project of a 30-bed hospital in the constituency would start soon.
Amonkar was speaking to reporters after attending a Vanamahotsava function where several flower and fruit-bearing plants were distributed to the residents.
Amonkar said that there were a lot of projects in store for the Mormugao Constituency. “In the ongoing assembly session, I have raised several issues faced by the people because it is my responsibility as the MLA. I have been raising issues for the last three years. I had demanded a 30-bed hospital at Sada two years ago and the work on this ambitious project will start very soon,” Amonkar said.
“We have seen that the roads in the entire constituency have been hot-mixed. I have now demanded that the ammonia storage tanks be shifted to a distant non-populated area for the safety of the people. I have also demanded that our heritage fort be restored and beautified.”
“We have almost achieved the long-pending demands of fishermen of having a breakwater. We have also asked the government to settle the pending aid that the women have to receive from Gruha Aadhar and Laadli Laxmi schemes. Another major issue of retaining walls will be addressed on priority in landslide-prone areas of the constituency,” said the MLA.
