Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Tuesday launched the work to desilt the nullah near the spring at Chaferan in Vaddem, as a part of pre-monsoon works.
Speaking to reporters in the presence of ward councillor Leo Rodrigues, former MMC chairperson Kritesh Gaonkar and other residents, Godinho said the area used to get flooded in the rains causing difficulties to people.
“We will be taking up pre-monsoon works all over the constituency and we will clear all the major nullahs, so that no area of the constituency faces flooding. We will clear the silt from all the nullahs so that there is free flow of water without any blockage," said Godinho.
