The state is all set to celebrate the 60th Liberation Day in a Grand manner on Saturday with President Ram Nath Kovind, who will be on a two-day visit to Goa, in attendance.
Goa was liberated from the Portuguese rule on December 19, 1961.
Panaji, the state capital, has been beautified for the main official function where the President Ram Nath Kovind will be present. Related functions will also be organised in every town of the state where local ministers and MLAs will unfurl the tri-color.
The Government has decided to mark the occasion with year-long activities starting Saturday to December 19 next year.
The day-long celebrations on Saturday will start with a formal government function to be held at the Parade Ground in the morning.
