A 27-year-old MBA dropout Jeff John Louis had gone missing in 2021. It turns out, he was murdered in Goa by a gang over a matter of personal enmity.
The murder was discovered by the Kerala police while interrogating criminals in another case when one of them spilled the beans about Jeff’s murder on Saturday.
Jeff had gone missing in November 2021 and is said to have been murdered about a month before his mother reported his going missing to the police at Ernakulam, where the family stays. Three persons -- Anil Chacko of Velloor in Kottayam, Steffin and Vishnu from Wayanad -- have been arrested for the crime and will be brought to Goa for further investigations.
The motive for the murder, according to Kochi City police commissioner A Akbar, was personal vengeance as admitted by the arrested trio. Chacko, who has been named accused number one, had hatched the conspiracy to kill Jeff because of personal enmity.
A senior Goa police officer said the reports are likely true but he claimed there is no intimation yet from their Kerala counterparts about their coming to Goa to investigate the murder here on Goan soil.
