PANAJI
Stating that the youth of today needs to be aware of sacrifices made for India's freedom, Union Minister of State for Tourism, Port and Shipping Shripad Naik informed that till then they won't be able to value freedom.
Naik was speaking to reporters after visiting the multimedia exhibition on 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at KTC's Panaji bus stand, on Tuesday.
“The youth are not aware of the history of the freedom struggle of India. If one doesn't have the knowledge of history, then one's outlook towards the future becomes different. How are they going to value this freedom depends on the knowledge they have about the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters,” Naik stated.
“Until the knowledge doesn't reach today's youth then the real history of India's freedom struggle will not be carried forward. They won't be able to perform their duty towards the country as the strength for the same comes from knowing about the freedom struggle,” Naik opined.
Further, Naik commended the Central Bureau of Communications for doing a great job in providing information to the public on the freedom struggle of India. “Such types of exhibitions need to be organised on a regular basis so that the information of the freedom struggle reaches the public,” he said.
Riyaz Babu, publicity officer CBC-Goa accompanied the Union Minister along with other officials.
