Over 70 youth from over nine villages of Siolim Deanery have come together to weave a spiritual and soul-stirring Lenten reflection titled ‘Be Redeemed’.
The two“hour musical has been receiving positive response for every show performed since February 27 and has created a buzz on social media, states a press note.
Spiritually conceptualized by Fr Ramiro Luis, Parochial Administrator of St Anthony’s Church, Vagator, along with the coordinator of the youth, Melroy Simoes, the programme brings forth the best of the youth from Assagao, Badem, Tropa, Anjuna, Vagator, Camurlim, Oxel, Siolim and Gaunsawaddo.
Shows of ‘Be Redeemed’ had been scheduled at Camurlim Church on March 8 at 7 pm, Assagao Church on March 9 at 7pm and Vagator Church on March 10 at 7 pm.
‘Be Redeemed’ merges the innate talent in music, theatre, dance and creativity of the young cast into a meaningful whole. It is an introspective and eye-opening journey that explores the constant reality of the Seven Deadly Sins of the Catholic Church in the everyday situations of life.
The programme brings into sharp focus the depth of pride, greed and envy that has taken root in all our lives. It throws light on the pervasive and oft-neglected sins of gluttony as well as sloth. It also brings the audience face to face with the dangerous consequences of the sins of wrath and lust.
Employing the powerful mediums of shadow act, mime, one-act play, dialogue, monologue, musical and dance, the awareness of these sins and the call to be redeemed is put forth in an impactful manner.
