The two Bulgarians who were recently arrested for defrauding customers by tampering with the Bank of India ATM in Mapusa have also been found involved in tampering with State Bank of India ATM in Mapusa, Mapusa Police said.
A police official informed that sufficient evidence has been gathered to suspect the involvement of the two in the Mapusa SBI ATM tampering case where several customers had complained of losing money.
Meanwhile, a Mapusa court extended the police custody of the two foreigners for another two days.
Their seven day custody was ending on Sunday.
It may be recalled Mapusa Police had arrested the duo on Saturday last week after the Chief Manager, Bank of India Mapusa branch had lodged a complaint with police that some unknown persons had connected a skimming device to bank’s ATM and stole valuable date of the customers.
Police zeroed on the two after watching the CCTV footage and immediately nabbed one accused Ivo Petrov
Metchenov from his Arpora residence while his accomplice Milen Ivanov Davranski was picked up from the Dabolim airport while attempting to move out of Goa.
During investigation a skimming device was found in possession of one of the accused and a laptop, six mobile phones, a card reader, external hard disk, router and two skimmers were found with the other accused which was attached by the police.
Police informed that both the accused were residing at a plush residence at Arpora.
