Jeet Arolkar, who plans to contest the Mandrem by-poll, on Wednesday appealed to voters to elect him as their MLA for 3 years to bring about a transformation in the constituency.
“I have decided to contest the by-poll as an independent candidate as I have the support of people as well as workers of main political parties. My aim is all-round development of Mandrem constituency,” said Arolkar, while addressing a news conference at his office at Mandrem.
Former ZP member Shridhar Mandrekar, former Tuem sarpanch Kishor Naik and Panch Subhash Asolkar were present at the news conference.
“Till now, I have visited 60% houses in constituency and am acquainted with problems faced by the people. If elected, I will try my level best to resolve these problems and if I fail to deliver, I have told the people not to give me a second chance in politics,” said Arolkar.
To a query from the media, Arolkar denied that he would contest on the MGP ticket.
