Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Monday said the decision to reopen schools is likely to be reviewed, considering the rise in Covid cases.
"On one side, cases are rising in Goa and there is growing fear among people and parents as well. The government wanted to start schools in a phased manner, but I feel we will review the decision. We will all express our views to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and take a collective decision.” “At some point in time, we have to reopen schools, but when is going to be a crucial decision. Cases are rising. If schools reopen, children could fall sick and take infections to their homes. We don't want such a situation to happen," Godinho said.
