Post-Swapnil Walke murder case, the Margao police have cleared the Margao Municipal Council garden benches of the homeless and beggars.
But the men-in-uniform seem clueless on how to go about handling these strangers on the garden footpath “ the stray cattle.
With stray cattle making MMC garden footpath their second home, questions are raised whether the Margao Municipal Council will deal with the menace to provide obstruction-free movement to pedestrians.
It is now days since stray cattle have literally made the MMC garden opposite the Comunidade building their home, but there’s no action forthcoming from the civic body to date.
Neither Chief Officer Ajit Panchwadkar nor Chairperson Pooja Naik is believed to have issued instructions to the workers to impound the stray cattle.
Otherwise, how does one explain the presence of stray cattle on the garden footpath right in front of the MMC building, where city fathers and babus move in and out several times a day.
Police maintained that they are given a clear brief by their higher-ups to ensure that miscreants and drunkards do not take shelter on the garden benches, but expressed their helplessness in impounding the stray cattle.
