MARGAO
A man dressed like Yamraj along with RTO officials descended on the Margao old bus stand on Wednesday evening to spread awareness amongst the bus drivers and staff on road safety.
At the KTC bus stand, an awareness programme was organised by the Margao traffic cell for the KTC drivers and conductors.
‘Yamraj’ and the RTO officers addressed the drivers on the salient aspects of road safety to protect the lives of the passengers. They also highlighted to the drivers that they should always drive on the left of four-lane roads for the safety of the passengers and the motorists alike.
An RTO officer Anil Bambaikar informed that the awareness stressed on instilling discipline amongst the drivers and conductors of the private buses. “We insisted that the drivers and conductors observe discipline by wearing uniforms and displaying badges. All these things are being told to the drivers during the test and we have only reminded them to comply with the road safety aspects in the interest of the passengers and motorists”, he added.
A skit was also presented by children on various aspects of road safety.
