The theme of the awareness program was ‘convert to conserve, a step towards healthy environment’. Many waste management techniques were showcased at the event. The audience was also informed of how to convert waste into compost.
MMC Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes, while speaking on the occasion said, “when the house is mine, the yard is mine, the food is mine, the waste is mine, then why is waste management not mine? Lets change our mind, start composting and make our environment shine.”
“SAAD developed a transformer kit which can transform our wet waste into fine compost, within two months time without using electricity or any other machine. The main philosophy behind this seminar is to make our citizens aware about their responsibility of managing their waste,” said Ravindra Gajbhiye, Director, SAAD.
