That there was no coordination between Electricity Chief Engineer Laxmikant Kolvekar and his Superintending Engineer Nilkhant Reddy became apparent when the MLAs posed a host of questions to the Minister “ ranging from LED lights to basic infrastructure.
Lamenting over the unusual situation, the MLAs remarked that
the department officials should first have connectivity amongst themselves before they could serve the
consumers effectively.
When the media later asked the Power Minister to shed light on the absence of coordination amongst the department senior staff, Madkaikar conceded that there’s some problem in respect of connectivity between senior officials. “The problem is very much there. I will try my best to resolve the issue. During the interaction, I could sense the problem amongst officials,” he said.
Pointing out that there’s some lapse in the administration, the Power Minister disclosed plans to call for separate meetings of the executive engineers, assistant engineers and
the junior engineers to bring about coordination in the department. There might be some problems relating to administration, may be because of promotions, he said, adding that he is aware of
the problem.
