MARGAO: While Congress veteran Luizinho Faleiro is pre-occupied with the election work for the Congress in the North East, the Navelim MLA has decided to completely stay away from shortlisting of candidates for the two Lok Sabha and three by-polls for the Shiroda, Mandrem and Mapusa Assembly seats. In fact, Faleiro said that he has not been interfering with the party affairs in Goa after he had handed over the baton of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) after the 2017 Assembly election. “I am completely out of the process to shortlist candidates for the two Lok Sabha seats as well as for the by-polls for the Shiroda, Mandrem and Mapusa constituencies. The Congress party in Goa has a president in place, who along with the existing system is involved in the process to shortlist candidates,” he said, making it abundantly clear that he is in no way involved in the selection of candidates for the ensuing polls.
