1 booked for impersonating Army personnel

The Fatorda police has registered a case of cheating against a person who allegedly pretended to be an Army personnel by calling a doctor seeking quotations to conduct blood tests for his staff.

Fatorda police station in-charge, PI Ditendra Naik informed that the case has been registered based on a complaint received from a doctor last year stating that the accused persons induced the complainant to pay money on three different occasions via G-pay to his account.

He further said the accused did not pay back the amount to the complainant nor did he conduct the blood tests as agreed, thereby cheating the complainant to the tune of Rs 60,000.

The police has also invoked section 66D of the Information Technology Act against the accused person.
