Around 12 fishermen had a lucky escape when a country-made motorised canoe capsized off Benaulim beach early on Tuesday morning. This is the second incident in the choppy seas off the Salcete coast in the past 10 days, following a similar event off Colva beach.

Sources reported that the canoe, carrying around 10-12 fishermen, ventured out to sea on Tuesday morning. A large wave is believed to have overturned the canoe, throwing the crew into the rough water. Fortunately, they were later rescued.
