MARGAO
The Colva police are back in the news once again, this time with a lawyer of the accused levelling serious allegations that the police cut the hair of his client and also plucked his nails while in police custody.
The accused, who was arrested by the Colva police in an attempt to murder case, has since been remanded to judicial custody by the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao on Monday.
The lawyer of the accused, Adv. Madhav Kuncolkar, however, told the media outside the court that the police cut the hair of his client while he was in custody. “The police have also plucked the nails of my client,” he said.
He added: “The police allegedly subjected my client to torture. They have cut his hair and plucked his nails. This is barbaric. Any accused is entitled to human rights. In the case of my client, his human rights have been violated.”
