Thirty-five new cases were detected in Pernem on Saturday, taking the total number of active cases to 1,573 in the taluka.
The new cases were detected at Mandrem (8), Tuem (1), Parcem (3), Morjim (6), Korgao (5), Agarwaddo (1), Chopdem (1), Arambol (2), Virnoda (1), Pernem town (3), Torsem (1), Valpe (2) and Malpe (1).
Interestingly, Pernem fire station was initially active in sanitising the houses of patients but this exercise has slowed down. The Mission for Locals at Korgao has taken the charge of conducting the sanitisation drive under the guidance of Rajan Korgaonkar.
