Two persons were arrested on charges of possessing drugs worth Rs 1.8 lakh near the old Verna panchayat.
According to police reports, Verna police conducted a narcotic raid upon reliable information that the two accused, Yudhisthira Mohanty (32) and Sibaram Pattnayak (22), both natives of Odisha but residing at Cumborda-Verna would go to deliver narcotics substances to a prospective customer at near the old Verna panchayat.
The accused were caught with 1.8 kgs of ganja valued at Rs 1.8 lakh. Both accused have been arrested and presently remanded to 3 days in police custody.
Further investigation is in progress with PSI Sanket Talkar under the supervision of SP South Abhishek Dhania, SDPO Vasco Salim Shaikh and PI Verna Diogo Gracias.
