Two more persons succumbed to Covid-19 in Goa taking the mortality count in the State to 604.
Both the deaths occurred at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim.
One of the deceased was a 46-year-old breast cancer patient from Ponda. She was admitted with a primary diagnosis of carcinoma breast with brain metastasis and Covid-19 was an incidental finding. The patient was being treated at GMC since October 20 and passed away in the surgery ward of GMC.
The other deceased was a 75-year-old man from Dodamarg. He had Covid pneumonia and underlying carcinoma lung with mets.
Meanwhile, with the addition of 210 new cases, the total confirmed cases have touched 43,626 in Goa. Of these, 2,344 are presently active and 40,678 have recovered. A total of 21,879 Covid-19 patients have opted for home isolation so far. The recovery rate in Goa stands at 93.24 per cent.
Till date, around three lakh people have been tested in Goa.
Health Secretary Satija tests +ve
PANAJI: Health Secretary Amit Satija has tested positive for Covid-19.
The health minister took to Twitter to wish the IAS officer a speedy recovery from the infection. “Wishing a speedy recovery to Shri @satija_amit, Health Secretary - Goa, who has tested positive for COVID-19,” the health minister tweeted.
