The Congress party has prepared a strategy to reach the masses through social media in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. GPCC Media Department Chairman Amarnath Panjikar emphasised that social media is the only tool to reach the people “to strengthen the democracy of the state and country.”“In the present time, most people use social media to connect across different locations. Hence, we need to use it effectively to reach our plans for nation-building to the people and to seek their support to save democracy,” he said.
The party alleged that BJP killed democracy by suppressing the voice of the public and encouraging elected representatives to defect and join its party. “This has to be stopped. The public can teach such elected representatives by showing them the door in the upcoming polls,” he said.
The Congress further resolved to ensure its social media posts stick to the facts and the truth, and not to malign any individual or party unnecessarily.
