As a preventive measure to fight covid third wave, the Goa BJP Medical cell has trained 2,571 out of 3243 (86%) booth level workers in 38 out of 40 constituencies under National Health Volunteers’ campaign.
Another 150 volunteers completed their training as trainers in 18 out of 20 sessions. Two sessions which remain are from Cortalim and Pernem constituency which will be completed after the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
The volunteers are trained in understanding what corona is and how covid appropriate behaviour should be.
They are also trained for preparing for the third wave, and to educate the public on correct diet, yoga, and how to boost one’s immunity. Live demonstrations were given on how to wear proper masks, their disposal, how to use pulse oximeters, thermal guns and how to conduct a six-minute walk test.
“We completed the training of 2571 booth level workers in only 15 days,” stated Dr Shekhar Salkar, BJP Goa State in-charge of National Health Volunteers’ Campaign.
Dr Salkar expressed his gratitude towards the government of Goa, BJP State president Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Satish Dhond, organisational head, ministers, MLAs, trainer doctors and others.
“This massive campaign could be successful because of the efforts taken by all doctors in the team “ Dr Sneha Bhagwat, Dr Vinod Verekar, Dr Shailesh Kamat, Dr Sonia Kanekar as well as Siddharth Kuncolienkar, Sharmad Raiturkar, Guru Pawaskar, Anita Kavlekar and Sudhir Parsekar,” said Dr Salkar. The remaining two sessions will be conducted after Chaturthi vacation.
