AAP demands judicial probe into jobs-for-cash scam

Say extension scams are directly linked to scandal

MARGAO

The Aam Aadmi Party has on Tuesday demanded a Judicial Commission headed by a retired High Court Judge to probe into the job for cash scam.

The party further demanded a stop to all government recruitments till the time the Judicial Commission is set up and the probe report is submitted to the government, further saying that extension scams are directly correlated to the job scam.

Flanked by party MLAs Venzy Viegas and Cruz Silva, besides party leaders Francis and Gerson at Benaulim on Tuesday, AAP President Amit Palekar told the media that a probe by a Judicial Commission headed by a retired High Court and assisted by retired district Court judges is  a necessity to bring out the truth in the cash for job scam. “People of Goa have now realised that Pooja Naik is just a tip of the iceberg in the scam. It is indeed alarming to find the comfort level that Pooja had to go to the CM’s house and offer bribes in exchange for jobs. Only a judicial probe would unearth the true fact and bring the guilty to book”, Amit said.

The AAP leader said ministers, ruling MLAs and BJP leaders from top to bottom are allegedly involved in the job scam. “The police has registered a case of abetment to commit suicide at the instance of the wife of a government official who had recently ended his life. We would like to say the complainant’s husband would not have ended his life if the government had not to sell jobs”, he added.

Saying that AAP leaders are getting details in respect of the jobs for cash scam, Amit charged the government for trying to make one person a scapegoat in the scam. “Pooja Naik is just the tip of the iceberg. They call Pooja the queen of the job scam. But, there is a need to expose the Empress involved in the scam. The entire BJP team is allegedly involved in the corruption by taking Goan youth in a different direction”, he said

Accusing the BJP government for allegedly running the job scam, AAP Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas termed the scam as 'Naukari for Tokri'  and urged the youth to speak out, saying the future of the youth will be at stake.
