PANAJI

Aam Aadmi Party ZP member from Benaulim Hanzel Fernandes yesterday took an initiative to distribute fogging machines with the help of the Aam Aadmi Party to all village Panchayats in his constituency. Due to rainfall there is a rise in concern over the increasing number of cases of malaria and dengue in the Benaulim constituency. While Aam Aadmi Party in Benaulim led by Capt Venzy Viegas and Hanzel Fernandes have been fogging important public places as part of their regular initiatives, it was felt that the party could also empower local panchayats as well.

All panchayats from Benaulim to Carmona-Cavelossim have been equipped with fogging equipment. All fogging machines went through a trial run to ensure they worked perfectly for the panchayats.

"We were approached by residents to help deal with the mosquito menace by fogging. We started our initiative in July and now we have also equipped all the panchayats from Benaulim to Carmona- Cavelossim  with the fogging machines" said AAP leader and Benaulim ZP member Hanzel Fernandes. "We have been running this fogging drive in all the panchayats in Benaulim constituency for the past month and this was the clear next step."

"Under the Aam Aadmi party we have taken up this initiative to prevent malaria and dengue in Benaulim. With our donation of fogging machines to the panchayat bodies, we want to empower these local bodies to work better to improve public health and for the betterment of Benaulim. The Aam Aadmi Party is a firm believer in empowering local bodies," said AAP Leader Capt Venzy Viegas.
