The AAP Youth Wing will submit a memorandum to the CM regarding the postponement of third-year exams.
Aam Aadmi Party Goa Youth Wing will submit a memorandum to CM Pramod Sawant asking for the postponement of third-year students' exams.
First and second-year students will have their exams online, while third-year students will give their exams offline.
Reacting to this AAP Taleigao assembly in-charge Cecile Rodrigues said, “With the rise of COVID cases currently, it is a big risk for our students who will be taking exams offline. We therefore demand that the exams be postponed until the situation is under control".
She added, "CM Pramod Sawant is an education minister. He has to be concerned about students' safety. If this action is not taken, right now, CM will see students coming down in big numbers for protesting and putting their lives at great risk again".
"We are in the third wave. Everyone is falling sick. The students are already petrified because some of their family members, teachers, and classmates have been affected by COVID. I wonder where we're headed right now?", she asked.
"Dr Shekhar Salkar, a member of the Goa government's Task Force for Covid management, has suggested that schools should be closed until January 26. Then why has the government put students at risk by conducting exams on January 14? We will submit a memorandum to the CM asking for the postponement of exams", said Siddesh Bhagat, All India Vice President of AAP Youth Wing and State Coordinator for the state.
Pujan Malvanjar, AAP Youth Wing President North said, “The positive rate in Goa has reached 21 per cent. The government first played with the careers of youth and now it is playing with the lives of young people. The CM needs to act for the students' benefit”.
