OLD GOA
St Cruz MLA Tony Fernandes raked up the issue of RDA Minister Michael Lobo’s absence at the corner stone laying ceremony of Goa Bazaar at Merces on Saturday.
Speaking at the function, Fernandes questioned: “Why is Michael Lobo missing here? We have been asked to report at 10 am and the minister is himself missing.”
But, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant sought to downplay the issue by stating that Lobo could not attend the function due to a pre-occupation.
However, Lobo’s absence raised eyebrows with rumours doing the rounds that the BJP minister is on his way to joining the Congress.
Meanwhile, MLA Fernandes also raised the issue of flooding around the area and appealed to the government to build a culvert to ensure smooth flow of rainwater to the River Mandovi.
