The Crime Branch of Goa Police, in a joint operation with the Special Cell of the Amritsar Rural Police, apprehended two absconders, wanted in connection with a murder case in Punjab.
According to the Superintendent of Police (North Goa) Nidhin Valsan, the accused have been identified as Samalval Gurunan Singh, a 22-year-old resident of Amritsar, and Amrit Kewal Singh, a 22-year-old resident of Tarn Taran, Punjab.
“The accused were residing in a rented property located in Zuari Nagar, Sancoale. Samalval is linked to the murder of four persons in Punjab and had been evading law enforcement,” Valsan said. On a tip-off that the accused were hiding in Goa after the gruesome act there, the police counterparts in Amritsar sought the assistance of Goa Police, which was followed by the joint operation. They have been charged under Section 302 (murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, and Section 25 and 27 of the Arms Act, at Jadiala Police Station.
