MARGAO
President of South Goa Advocates Association Adv. Antonio Clovis has headed to Kolkata to join the Trinamool Congress.
Hailing from Assolna village, Clovis told the media that he has decided to join TMC party. 'I am heading to Kolkata today to join the TMC after consulting my friends and well wishers', he told the media.
He took the decision to embrace the TMC days after TMC leader Derek O'Brian had descended at his residence for an interaction with citizens from Assolna and the neighbouring areas including Cuncolim.
Asked whether he would contest the 2022 elections from Velim, Clovis said this and other questions will be decided later.
The Margao-based lawyer had shot into the limelight at the height of the second COVID wave when he knocked the doors of the High Court on a host of issues including deaths due to oxygen shortage.
