The Aldona primary health centre will hold Covid vaccination camps on April 4 and 5 in order to cover maximum children for the jabs.
Health Officer Dr Preetam Naik has appealed to all parents to ensure that their children in the respective age group take their Covid vaccine dose.
Those children who are in the age group of 15 to 18 years will receive ‘Covaxin’ vaccine while those in the age group of 12 to 14 years will get ‘Corbevax’ vaccine.
The registration will begin from 9 am onwards.
All those who are going to take the vaccines are requested to carry their Aadhaar card and mobile no.
“Getting more young children vaccinated is crucial. Government has started giving ‘Corbevax’ vaccine for children in the age group of 12 to 14 from March onwards. But unfortunately many children due to exams have not taken their dose. I have decided to give benefit to all the beneficiaries and therefore will hold camps in the primary health centre,” Dr Naik said.
She appealed to the parents not to fall prey to rumours about the efficacy of the vaccine.
“There are no complications. The vaccine is recommended after following proper procedure and following all the protocols. Covid has played havoc among our lives but now it appears to be well under control. Lot of credit goes to Covid vaccine,” she said.
The health officer informed that depending on response the health centre may organize more such camps in future.
