Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha on Wednesday hit back at Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho, stating that he is insecure in Dabolim constituency and challenged him to show any one structure taken up and completed by him as Cortalim MLA for 20 years.
Addressing a news conference convened by the Cortalim BJP Mandal, Saldanha also accused Godinho of using the Sancoale Panchayat to attack her in Cortalim constituency.
“This only reflects his insecurity in Dabolim constituency. Godinho must give up the protocol Ministry if he cannot abide by rules and regulations of the Protocol department,” said Saldanha.
"Can he show any one structure he had taken up and completed as Cortalim MLA for 20 years? People are questioning his statement on what he can do now by placing someone in Cortalim constituency," said Saldanha.
"Lies cannot change the truth but Godinho has not learnt till now and it is pathetic to see him behaving like this by breaking all rules and code of conduct and trespassing in Cortalim constituency because of a few stooges who helps him.”
“I am surprised that he did not claim credit for the Cansaulim hospital and the market complex at Zuarinagar and may be, he will say these projects were done by him in the next meeting.”
“As minister for protocol, if he cannot abide by rules and regulations of protocol, he must give up the ministry. I also request the BJP to put some sense in his mind because he is losing control," said Saldanha.
Saldanha said the foundation stone for the new Sancoale panchayat ghar was laid twice in Mauvin Godinho’s office.
“Till date, the stone is still in his office because the Sancoale Panchayat ghar could never become a reality despite he being the MLA of Cortalim for 20 years. He said the consultant ran away and if he is so concerned about development, could he not find another consultant and complete the project?”
“The fact is that he was never interested in developing the constituency or working for the people but now he feels the need to claim credit for the works that I have done," said Saldanha.
She said Sancoale Sarpanch Ramakant Borkar had addressed the media in her office around eight months ago, alleging that Godinho did nothing for Cortalim.
