What have the political parties and politicians got to say over South Goa district hospital’s request to the Margao Municipal Council to clear the illegal structures that have resurfaced at Monte Hill near the Junta Quarters at Pajifond?
This question assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of the fact that the illegal structures on the Hospicio land had mushroomed on the eve of the 2021 elections for the Margao civic body.
For, it is perceived in local political circles that the prime Hospicio land has been encroached upon by the unscrupulous elements with politicos and political parties turning a blind eye to the encroachments and illegalities.
Sources wondered whether the illegalities have mushroomed on the Hospicio property without the knowledge and blessings of the politicians and the political parties. “Otherwise, how does one explain the eerie silence by politicians of all hues when the illegal structures first raised its ugly head in 2021 and have resurfaced again after the demolition”, sources wondered.
