RGP slams govt for detention of Bhomkars

OLD GOA

The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) MLA Viresh Borkar has slammed the BJP government for the forceful detention of the Bhoma locals.

“This shows that this government is bulldozing its way against the wishes of the people,” Borkar chided while stating that this very people will show the BJP its place in the upcoming LS elections.

“Our party is with the Bhoma locals in opposing the road widening through the village and are firm that a bypass should be built instead so that the houses and temples are saved from destruction,” Borkar said.

The MLA further chided the BJP for talking big about Hindutva on one side and going ahead with destroying the temples and the homes of the Hindus.

Borkar further informed that the BJP will go to any extent to protect the business interest of the crony capitalists at the cost of the Goans.

“Everybody knows that this road-widening project is done for the sole purpose of coal transportation,” he alleged.

Finally, Borkar concluded by stating that the detention of the Bhomkars only goes to prove that the BJP is another version of the Portuguese government which also arrested anyone questioning its authority.
