Bryan Adams, the Canadian singer-songwriter legend, rocked Goa at his Bambolim athletic stadium concert on Tuesday if the rave reviews and social media posts by dozens of fans who were there is anything to go by.
Yet there have been some fans of the legend, who were left disappointed not with his performance at the concert but with the arrangements and several organisational aspects.
Take Fredrika Menezes, the Panjim-based author, artist and poet who is a self-admitted Bryan Adams fan.
"Being a big Bryan Adams fan, I was super happy when his Goa leg of So Happy It Hurts world tour was announced. I went for the show. He was amazing as always but unfortunately I couldn't see him as there was a big crowd in front of me -- no respect or consideration for PwDs -- they blocked my view," Menezes said.
"I hold the organizers responsible for the unruly crowded front area. They should know how to organize a show of this calibre," Fredrika told The Goan even as she advised the organisers that in future, venues be made barrier free for PwDs who might attend.
She said, PwDs must be provided special seating spaces.
"Because we too have rights. I had to sit there catching brief glimpses of Bryan and feeling sad that I couldn't see more," said Fredrika, who is confined to the wheel-chair due to cerebral palsy and has never missed any of Bryan Adams' previous tour concerts in India.
"It was not properly organized. I waited two decades to see Bryan perform in Goa and ended up not really seeing him," she lamented.
"As for this music lover, I await my next concert will be a better experience and always hope Bryan Adams graces Goa again," she said.
Fredrika wasn't the only one to be left disappointed with certain organisational aspects of the Bryan Adams concert at the Bambolim stadium. Noted advertising and marketing strategist Cajetan Vaz was another who criticised the poor arrangements and visibility of the Stage.
"Paid a lot to listen to a live show. Couldn't see the stage. Radio. Bryan Adams," the Porvorim-based Vaz said in a social media post.
