Caretaker held for stealing gold ring, cash

MAPUSA  

Anjuna police have arrested a villa caretaker in connection with the theft of a gold ring and cash, valued at Rs 65,000.  

The incident came to light when Shashank Jha, a resident of South Delhi, filed a complaint stating that between 5 pm and 8 pm on December 6, the caretaker entered the villa in Anjuna and stole the items.

According to the police, the stolen goods included a gold ring worth Rs 40,000, belonging to Jha’s sister-in-law, and Rs 25,000 in cash, in various denominations, belonging to Jha himself.  

Following the complaint, the Anjuna police registered a case under section 306 of BNS, 2023, and arrested the accused, identified as Deep Nath, a 34-year-old native of Assam.  

The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
